Oh Yes You Can!

Like most of you, I watched in horror as a tidal wave of destruction washed over people, vehicles, homes, and buildings in Japan on Friday. Wanting to do something, I turned to the internet to find a way to donate.

To avoid the scammers, I chose the Canadian Red Cross who had already modified their website to accept donations using credit cards, checks and even paypal. Donations that will enable them to support emergency response efforts including evacuation, search and rescue and emergency first aid not to mention the ongoing resources that will be necessary to take care of survivors.

If you want to help, please find an organization you believe in and donate now. Every penny counts and they can add up fast!

My friend Lyn of Gustosa Giveaways who happens to live in Japan has provided many donation links on a post she did "Here"

Just think, if only half of you who follow Meno Deb donate $5 (or the price of a fancy coffee) we could raise over $5000!!!

I've made my donation, have you?

I sent mine in yesterday - used the CDN Red Cross as it was pretty simple and easy to donate using their site.

Yes, I mailed out my check Monday and I was careful about who I went through as well. Scammers are plentiful during these events.

I'd planned to donate before now, but must admit that I have procrastinated.

It's time for me to stop what I'm doing in my busy little "safe" life, and donate now.

Thanks for posting your concern!

I live in the States and it was super easy to donate to the American Red Cross while checking out at my local Costco.
